Early enabling work on the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) site is underway and the main contractor, IHP, will be hosting an ‘information drop in event’ for anyone wanting to find out more.

The event – to be held at Rempstone Village Hall on Tuesday 4 October between 4.00-8.00pm – is an opportunity for anyone living locally or interested in the construction process to learn more about how, where and when construction work will be done.

The early enabling work happening now involves creating the new access road from the A6006 through the north-western end of the estate to the NRC site. Also this autumn, the team will be doing some pre-construction groundwork to make the NRC site ready for the main building activity to start in the new year.

“Getting going with this early enabling work is an important part of our overall construction programme and objective to have the NRC treating patients by the end of 2024. We selected IHP as our main works contractor because of their expertise but also their commitment to considerate contracting and working with the local community. This information drop in event on 4 October is the start of what will be a programme of proactive communication to ensure we keep everyone fully informed and updated as we build the NRC.”

Ryan McCormack, Head of NRC Programme Construction & Commercial

Anyone wanting to attend the event is free to drop in at a time of their choosing between the opening hours of 4.00-8.00pm.

Members of the IHP team together with NRC Programme colleagues will be running the session and pleased to explain the forthcoming construction activity and answer any questions.

As construction activity steps up, there will also be additional information provided on the NRC website as well as via newsletters and other communication channels.

Rempstone Village Hall is at 37 Main Street, Rempstone, LE12 6RH.

The event is a drop in format in line with capacity within the Village Hall.
