These are some of the healthcare professionals who may be involved in your care:
Co-ordinate the management of patients and oversee the rehabilitation you receive. Our Rehabilitation Consultants consist of Consultant Physicians and a Consultant Allied Health Professional.
Our experienced doctors take a personalised approach to patient treatment, guiding the rehabilitation process including which medications and treatments would help to ensure the most effective recovery for you.
Advanced Clinical Practitioners manage your clinical care alongside the doctors, and in partnership with you, your family and any carers. They work with the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure you can achieve your rehabilitation goals.
Our highly-skilled and dedicated nursing team provides around-the-clock support to patients throughout the rehabilitation process, ensuring that you receive a high standard of care.
HCAs are essential members of the healthcare team who provide vital support in daily patient care. They work closely with the nursing team and play a crucial role in ensuring that your needs are met with sensitivity, compassion and professionalism.
Help patients reach their goals through physical interventions, exercises, and a range of innovative treatments designed to optimise and enhance a patient’s physical abilities.
Work with patients to enable them to participate in their daily ‘occupations’, for example everyday tasks such as making a meal, and leisure interests.
Work with all patients to deliver rehab programmes as prescribed by the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. They will also lead group activities and support the nursing team in therapeutic activities throughout the NRC.
Work with patients to help with managing depression, anxiety or trauma-related disorders. This is particularly important to help patients to get the most out their time at the NRC.
Any condition involving the brain can disrupt thinking, memory, emotions or behaviour. The role of neuropsychologists is to find out exactly which functions have been impaired, so that the most effective treatments and strategies can be provided.
Provide assessment and intervention for patients with speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties.
Develop customised nutrition plans that cater to each patient’s individual needs. Dietitians work closely with other professionals to ensure that any nutritional concerns are appropriately addressed.
Actively manage and support you through your rehabilitation journey from acute hospital to discharge and beyond. The Case Manager will be your key contact for you and your family/friends, they will commonly chair your goal meetings, and will be the go-to link for updates and support with referrals and discharge planning.
Leading on research, education and innovation at the NRC to continue to improve rehabilitation for you and many future patients.
