The NRC was thrilled to welcome Professor Fary Khan, President Elect of the ISPRM, to the NRC last week. Prof Khan has visited us all the way from Melbourne, Australia.

She is current President Elect of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.
Her career spans over two decades of clinical excellence, research leadership, and global advocacy. She has published over 500 scientific papers, led international training programmes across 15 countries, and played a key role in establishing evidence-based rehabilitation pathways across the public health sector. Among her many accolades, Prof Khan was inducted into the US National Academy of Medicine awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in 2022, the George Burniston Oration and Medal of the RACP in 2024, the ISPRM Sydney Licht Award in 2018 and Ollie Hook Oration Award in 2024 for her pioneering work in cancer rehabilitation.
Regarding her visit to the NRC, Prof Khan said: "I had the pleasure of visiting the NRC site at Stanford Hall this week. The NRC will be the Centre of Excellence and provide rehabilitation input for persons with disability. It will translate cutting edge research into real- world clinical care to optimise patient outcomes for rehabilitation.
"The NRC programme will be the 'jewel in the crown' for publicly-funded patients needing rehabilition in the UK as the premier hub for scientific innovation, academic excellence and industrial collaboration.
"It will support capacity building across a range of disciplines including healthcare biotechnology, sustainability and advanced manufacturing, in collaboration with many other academic partners."
We thank Prof Khan for taking the time to visit and look forward to future collaboration with international colleagues from Melbourne.
