More than 80 colleagues from the neighbouring Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) were welcomed to the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) this week for a series of guided tours, giving them the opportunity to see the new facility ahead of the arrival of its first patients next week.
In total, 83 DMRC staff members took part in the tours, alongside 11 members of the DMRC executive team who visited earlier in the day.
Hosted by members of the NRC team, the visits provided colleagues with a behind-the-scenes look at the state-of-the-art building and its innovative rehabilitation facilities.
The tours offered our rehabilitation colleagues in the military a greater understanding of how the NRC will transform NHS rehabilitation services, and also provided an opportunity to further strengthen relationships between the NRC and DMRC, building on the close partnership between the two organisations.
Feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive, with visitors expressing their enthusiasm for the new centre and keen interest in its design and facilities. The visit helped showcase how the NRC and DMRC can continue to learn from one another and work together to further advance rehabilitation care.
